Recognize the "Prairie". A Multicultural Reading of Jerzy Harasymowicz’s Poem

Summary/Abstract: The study refers to the text of J. Harasymowicz’s Prairie, which, being a kind of reference to the once popular – even in our country – Indian legend, could become the basis for intercultural education of recipients in early school age. The author points out to the two types ofsimilarities connecting the world of the recipient with the world of the Other, and which underlie in a text referring to concrete poetry: (1) the similarity of cultural scripts presented in the narrative text layer, (2) the similarity of letters and pictograms. Both types can lead to openness to the Other and can deepen the knowledge about ourselves.
