Summary/Abstract: On Prayer with Jeremy Taylor (1613-1667). Jeremy Taylor is important for the contemporary christian because he brings forth essential theological aspects for the well being of faith and fellowship with God. Also, Taylor presents practical aspects for the efficiency of prayer and the reception of blessings and peace for the soul. Through the artistic language he uses, Taylor offers a pleasant but engaging reading. The distinctive note of his essay on prayer is offered by the doxological formulations, combining the theological depth with an endeavour of searching first the things of the Kingdom of God. In his essay, Taylor pleads for a life of prayer which would result in peace of mind, confort in tribulations, joy in meakness and persecution and faithfull hope in the redemption of God.
