Summary/Abstract: Local Environmental Change as a Subjective Life Event. The study deals with problems of perceiving and experiencing a local change of environment which has been caused by a radical intervention of man in nature. Such a change is the construction of the water power station complex Gabčíkovo in the Danube region. The aim of the social-psychological research which was carried out on the sample of inhabitants living in the near vicinity of the construction (the villages of Bodíky and Horný Bar) was to map changes in perceiving and attitudes toward the environmental change in the temporal dimension.
