Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on the supervision of juvenile delinquents in the context of functions and goals of family law courts. The results of research based on 225 supervision orders are analyzed where supervision was performed by professional guardians (curators) as well as social ones. The guardians were appointed by the District Court in Poznań. The research shows that in practice, supervision is mostly performed by social guardians which denotes a shift in the judicial supervision model from professional-social to socio-professional one. The aim of the research was to compare the quality of work with supervised persons in both groups. The Author describes the results of research in both groups by analyzing elements of supervision, such as: elapsed time until first contact, the frequency and place of further communication, sources and types of information as well as the manner of diagnosing, the structure and contents of the interaction plan with the supervised person, the position of the curator within the family environment, type of cooperation and offered help. The above serve as the basis for evaluating models of supervision in the context of their efficiency which, as the Author concludes, is higher among professional curators. Thus, the Author advocates further development of this group of professionals.
