Greening the Economy and Skill Needs Changes in the Context of Labour Market of Slovak Republic

Summary/Abstract: Article deals with the topic of changes in skill needs, related to the process of greening of economy. First part outlines the main findings from quantitative demand oriented forecasts of skill needs in EU and Slovak Republic and summarizes main factors of qualitative changes in this field. Than in detail the field of green skills is introduced with its particularities, challenges and obstacles for research and actual findings from this field. Second (research) part, analyzes the results of survey conducted on firms in selected green sectors of economic activity such as renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, green building, environmental services, regarding their views on changes in skills needs in given sectors in Slovakia.
