Role of the pastoral counselor in the rural school

Summary/Abstract: Having a special calling, the pastoral adviser ought to be found in the rural schools, his role being that of making a difference. It’s sad, though, that the school in the rural areas undergoes an unfavourable period of time. The counselling process emphasises the prevention dimension of the emotional and behavioural disorders, the one of the personal development and problem solving. The pastoral adviser must inspire the child with confidence, accept him as he is, help him improve and acquire the strength and patience to listen to him.
