Summary/Abstract: The musical manuscripts from the Putna Monastery from the 15th and 16th centuries are the main argument for proving that the Romanian liturgical chant was mainly in Greek. Thus in the specified period a clearly distinguished bilingual system was in use. The music of these manuscripts was the one sung in Byzantium and on Mount Athos. The musical manuscript from Dragomirna belongs to the Putna Musical School and it has its own characteristic features. The fact that it contains 13 chants that do not show up in the other manuscripts makes it a monument of the Romanian medieval music.
