Summary/Abstract: Aloysius Bertrand (1807-1840), the great French poet, who failed into oblivion. Formaly romantic, essentialy modernist, known by his prose poetry "Gaspar de la Nuit" which inHuenced Baudelaire. In his poems he paints a bizzare and ocult world of ghosts, witches, dwarfs and water fairies... That is not the Middle Ages measured by historical facts but by human's poetical fantasy which dreams an extatic escape to sublimo.
