Summary/Abstract: Comparative Literature, Discipline of Integration and Globalization” presents the author’s position regarding the situation of contemporary comparatism in our age of integration and globalization. The author understands that literary exchanges can’t be discussed any longer from the old Romantic relationship implying the already traditional dichotomy national – universal, but taking into consideration the postmodern equation of local versus global. The global element acts throughout the local itself, whose values are certified only when related to the global standards. Therefore, localism is seen as opposed to provincialism, turning into a real factor of integration, because of mass production and the contemporary consumism, altogether with the established global standards and high technology. In conclusion, comparative literature does not face al all a general crisis, but acknowledges a profound paradigmatic transformation.
