The Cultural Activity of Mikalojus Akelaitis During his Emigration in 1867-1877

Summary/Abstract: In this article are reviewed the publicist works of Lithuanian enlightener Mikalojus Akelaitis (1829-1887), written during his emigration after the uprising of 1863 in poland and lithuania. While living in paris, he tried to make some money by writing to polish periodical press - "Gazeta warszawska", "Na Dzis", "Gazeta toruñska", "Wiek" and others. The themes of his correspondency are different - political and cultural life of france, the life of polish emigrants abroad, political situation in Europe. From his publications we can see the evolution of political and cultural outlook of akelaitis, during his emigration in France.
