Summary/Abstract: “In Cold Blood” by T. Capote signified not only a watershed in the author’s creative work but also a certain landmark in the development of the New Journalism. Capote aimed at creating nonfiction novel – a new genre that would combine the factual character of the material and the artistic means of its representation. We believe that when writing his nonfiction novel, Capote used techniques of cinematography along with those of fiction. Cinematic nature is considered as an important characteristic of the poetics of the novel “In Cold Blood”.
