Late 18th Century Russian Literature in the Works of E.A. Bobrov

Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes the view of Kazan literary scholar E.A. Bobrov on late 18th century Russian literary process. According to the themes, Bobrov’s works are divided into three blocks, each being characterized by a set of specific features. The following are the prevailing categories that determine the peculiarity of Bobrov’s scientific method: the “spot” analysis of literary facts, the understanding of literature as a phenomenon closely linked with the personality of a writer, and the penetration of subjectivity into a research idea.
