Summary/Abstract: The article refers to a series of volumes deited by the cultural publication "The Jewish Reality" (Realitatea evreiasca); this sequence of issues is dedicated to famous cultural personalities, focusing on Jewishness as problematic identity. The encounter with Fundoianu, Celan and Sebastian is seen as a meaningful encounter with three destinies; the author of this article makes a selection among the most representative pieces of writing and information included in the studied volumes. The cultural journey offered by the reading appears as an insight into a world of letters, terror and death, the matter of Jewishness becoming an issue of general interest.
