Summary/Abstract: Which differences can be ascertained before, during and after the parliamentary elections of the politically so much different states of the more and more uniformly growing Europe? Are there, actually, resemblances between the parliamentary elections of the EU member states and those of the EU-entry nominees? The following study tries to find an answer on this question by comparing elections in a founder of the EU (Germany) and an entry nominee (Hungary). Some words about the method of my study: after I had noticed some resemblances between the electoral campaigns, I started to collect them together with the differences systematically. So I divided the material in this study first into 2 groups (resemblances or differences), then I ordered them chronologically in further 4 groups according to resemblances or differences, and see 1. if they come from the electoral systems of the two countries, 2. what were to be noticed during the campaigns, 3. what can be concluded from the results of the election, 4. what were to be observed after the elections. As a summary of the statements of this study I must admit that in spite of the very different historical and political development and lawful regulation of two countries a lot of resemblances can be discovered. Of course I have also found a row of differences, nevertheless, it is my opinion that Hungary has quite adapted itself during the last 4 electoral periods since 1990 to the (west) European policy model. But this could be a thesis for another study.
