IMPACT OF ICT AND INFORMATION SOCIETY ON ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

Summary/Abstract: Information and communication tehnologies (ICTs) are key driver of innovation and developement process in most industries and most societies in the modern economy and modern society. During the past year, ICTs continued to spread throughout the world by forcing governments to establish efficient public services for their citizens, the business sector to adopt new business models and new communication way with their business partners and citizens to use Internet to realise their business activity and daily activities. Transforming the world, ICTs were creating an environment, which enabled the rise of innovativeness and productivity, a more efficient manner of connecting people and communities, and creating new opportunities for improving standards of living across the world. While changing the way individuals live, their interactions and way of work, transforming their society into information society, ICT has proven to be a key precondition economic and social development.
