Summary/Abstract: The article is an abbreviated report on the issue of Polish children's socialisation in the transformation period. It consists of six parts: discover of child and childhood, social stigma of childhood, school childhood, children culture, childhood in the sphere of money and market, childeran of new middle class. Each part of the article viwes a different aspect of the childhood, analyses different social groups and other educational problems. The childhoodin Poland is determined by the social-ecenomical conditions. A certian group of children struggles with poverty , parents' unemployment, economical and educational falimy crisis. The other one grows up in pursuit, has a significant awareness of educational and material facilities given by wealthy parents an the economical change. The childhood in Poland reflects the global cultural and civilisation change. It is outlined by the new means of information, lack of boundaries between media and reality, commercialisation an mercantilisation od children every-day life.
