Historical-Metrological Characteristics of the Pre-Metrological Measures in the Bulgarian Lands XV-XIX century

Summary/Abstract: The units of measurement in the Bulgarian lands before the introduction of the decimal metric system are multifarious. In the different spheres of the economic life official, regional, popular and other measures are used simultaneously. It happens that behind one single metrological term are hidden a lot of measures, which differentiate by both different quantities as well as by different sphere of application. This leads to numerous mistakes, misunderstandings and abuses. This study is devoted to the metrological phenomenon with the purpose to introduce a certain order in the work with historical-metrological matters.
