Summary/Abstract: The contribution sketches genesis, setting and existence of the infamous and one of the most cruel persecution institutions of the so called Protectorate: the Small Fortress prison. After explaining it´s importance, function and position within the Nazi system, the article gives basic information on the number of prisoners and countries they came from. Furthermore, the article thematises the most important groups and the prominent prisoners; where did the prisoners come from (camps and prisons) and where were they deported to. Focus of the article is on Jewish prisoners, the treatment of whom was even more cruel than that of others. The contribution examines core statistical data of this group. The appendix is a selection of 26 documents on the fate of Small Fortress` Jewish prisoners.
