Pursuit Of Justice in Transition From Conflicts of Past to Compromise of Future: An Introduction to Transitional Justice and its Mechanisms

Summary/Abstract: Transitional justice plays a crucial role in transition from authori¬tarian regime to democratic regim as a bridge between past and future. Many countries which experienced/experiencing conflicts seek to establish mecha¬nisms for accountability of the past. In this framework; prosecutions, truth commissions, reparation programmes, forgiveness and lustration policies are highlightened to give a voice to witnesses and victims. This study aims to ex¬plain transitional justice and its mechanisms with legal, social and political dimensions.
