Summary/Abstract: An analytical article about Nobel prize-winner of 2002, Hungarian prose-writer Imre Kertesh, creative heritage of the author and the echo of his creative work in Ukrainian artistic environment. The rewarding of several latest prize-winners, as well as reflection on almost absolute lack of Ukrainian and Russian translations of Imre Kertesh's works. Apart from that the article deals with prospects of nominating Ukrainian authors for the Nobel prize.
