Summary/Abstract: The political manifesto "Hrvati Mađarom" written in 1848 by Croatian writer and politician Ivan Mažuranić is the first significant prose work of modern Croatian literature that appeared in both Croatian and Hungarian language at the same time. The translator of that manifesto could not be but a person of a high Hungarian political and intellectual education.
