Summary/Abstract: A review of Wojciech Klimczyk’s book Body Visionaries. A Panorama of Modern Dance Theater. The reviewer indicates the problems that arise while reading the book, as a result of the new terminology introduced by Klimczyk without prior explanation, and the scope of the material in the book. Królica also questions the manner of classifying phenomena and artists in latter part of the book, which is a personal overview of modern dance. Moreover, he demonstrates how essential information has been omitted from the artists’ biographies, the lack of description of Polish dance theater, and the lack of a declared shape for the book, which is “neither an overview, nor a textbook, nor a lexicon, nor a dictionary.” Nonetheless, Królica appreciates the role this publication might play in popularizing dance theater in Poland.
