Summary/Abstract: The folkloric category dimmed representative for verse and sang epics is the epic song, defined by V.I. Propp as an “epic song destined to be listened”. The haidouk epic song does not appear, however, in the folklore of all countries, as it reflects a specific form of social and national battle specific mainly to Balkan space. In the Central and Eastern European countries, the haidoukship is known from its simplest forms of manifestation to almost real institutions that were supporting the battles for social and national justice of the oppressed countries. To these countries, haidoukship was developed in similar shapes and forms, due to similar historical events. Among these, the Ottoman sovereignty occupies one of the most important places – and it overlapped on other forms of internal feudal exploitation of the peasants.
