Summary/Abstract: The globalisation of the world economy and of the financial markets has made the banking societies direct themselves towards utilizing new financing techniques. Factoring is a modern technique of financing which is made especially in the countries which are developed from an economic point of view, the most important markets being the United States, Italy, Great Britain and Japan. In Romania this technique started to be more and more utilized, because it has a series of advantages. This paper has as its goal a short presentation of the operation of factoring and also of the advantages and disadvantages which it gives to the users.
