Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on biographies Maria Theresia´s written in the form of mock Jewish chronicles. These imitations of Old Testament were a popular genre between 1744 and 1775. A special attention is devoted to the person of Christoph Gottlieb Richter (1716-1774) from Nuremberg. The writer tries to analyze the narrative strategies used by Richter in his historical works and poses the question of his influence on the making of Maria Theresia´s legend.
