The purpose of the present article is to feature the major directions of the ex libris journeys, to clear up in what area and why the “threaded paths“ took their shape, and who were those who “threaded“ them. The ideas presented in the text are based on the analysis of the exhibitions, where Lithuanian ex libris masters participated, the catalogues and other publications related to them (information leaflets, invitations, etc.) They were reliable sources for the information of statistics. The carried out investigations evidence that quite a big group of Lithuanian artists were stimulated to create ex libris by their wish to exhibit them abroad, to establish contacts with the collectors form other countries. The first such contacts go as far back as the second half of the 1960s. The most intensive contacts were established with Polish, Danish and Italian ex libris masters. There were several reasons which determined such distribution of interest in Lithuanian ex libris.
