Summary/Abstract: The article Inter – Parliamentary Union. Parliamentary organisation with universal vocation presents the sole institution that brings together parliamentarians from all states recognized as primary subjects of international law. Is shown how the organization was founded, its development, and the growth of attributions and numerical structure. Inter – Parliamentary Union consists of national groups, representatives of parliaments. National Group is created by decision of the parliament member, constituted under the laws of sovereign state. In each parliament may be created a sole national group. Are presented the main competences of the Inter – Parliamentary Union, internal organization, but also the way it relates with the United Nations Organizations and with other intergovernmental organizations, an important role being owned by the world conference of Parliaments presidents. We have shown that the Inter – Parliamentary Union Assembly is the main statutory body that expresses the vision of the Union on policy issues. It brings together parliamentarians who study international problems and make recommendations for future action. The Assembly meets twice a year in different countries each time, so that participants have the opportunity to see the various national realities.
