Summary/Abstract: School provides certain knowledge and develops skills. School and the whole learning environment, where this knowledge transmission and skill development process happens, also develop certain values. This article analyses learner value orientations, mostly related to learner nearest plans, career and importance of education. In other words, analysing learner attitude to the above mentioned issues we can make assumptions about learner career designing and career plans, motivation and choice to further seek for knowledge or join the ranks of labour force. Besides, the presented empirical research data to a certain extent show if learners leave school already prepared for their career and if they have sufficient knowledge significant in pursuit of career and integration into the labour market. It is also important to discuss learner social and demographic characteristics and other social factors that develop learner attitude to career and their value orientations.
