Russian refugees’ situation in Poland in interwar period: political, legal and social aspects

Summary/Abstract: The present article focuses on the situation of the Russian refugees in Poland during the interwar period. The present study aims to present a statistical analysis of the Russian refugees and to throw light on the structure of the respective forced emigration based on the data provided by the Polish government as well as nongovernmental refugee-oriented organizations. The significant attention is paid to the main problems connected with the legal status of the Russian refugees in Poland, particularly, issues related to social services, naturalization procedure, expulsion and refoulement as well as refugees' rights to residence and employment.
