The Characteristics of Dimensional Linguistic Activity

Summary/Abstract: The article analyses one of the most actual psycholinguistic problems: linguistic activity and its realization in linguadidactics. The work presents the definition of linguistic activity, its devices and realization possibilities. The author thinks that the components of linguistic activity are its devices and resources such as the language system and the ways how to form and formulate ideas. The forms and methods of linguistic activity implantation are thoroughly discussed in the article. In the author’s opinion, the language realization requires practical knowledge of the language. Verbal actions which help to use linguistic activity are considered by the author as a linguistic activity unit. The competence of linguistic activity is acquired by precise diligent work during teaching activity. Its task is to form skills of linguistic activity. The article might be useful both for theorists and practitioners.
