Summary/Abstract: The Russian Federation is one of the most important strategic partners of the European Union, however, the relationship between the two sides was not always productive, either because of (a) the Russian reluctance or (b) of the lack of a common position adopted by the EU Member States, either because of (c) third parties. Within this analysis I examine developments that have occurred in the years 2009-2010, taking as its starting point the two Summits that took place in May and November between the EU and Russia.
