Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to propose a respectful reflexion on the mystery of the Blessed virgin Mary according to the encyclical Redemptoris Mater and the main texts of famous contemporary theologians, founded on holy Scripture and its relation to the mystery of the Church. Like each of us, the Blessed virgin Mary is a creation. While reflecting on her in the context of her earthly existence, we find her as a perfect example of what and how a creation should be in the presence of god (h. de Lubac). Mary entered into the salvific mystery through her faith. So she is one of these persons who internally belongs to the name of God. The answer to god’s Salic initiative is personal and personalizing. Firstly, Mary is a daughter of Sion who belongs to the logics of listening. “Hear, Israel!” Secondly, Mary accepts in faith the Incarnation of the Word. Thirdly, Mary is the person who accepts the holy Spirit. For an integration of Mariology it is important to pay attention to the context of three main dimensions: in the Old Testament, in the mystery of Christ and in the context of the Church (Ecclesia), as emphasized by I. de la Potterie. God found in Mary a perfect representative of a New Covenant. The biblical context reveals to us an amazing similarity or analogy between two covenants. Announcement: The relation between sinai and Nazareth is great. In addition the aspects of Cana show many important indications of faith in the Israelite context of the Old Testament. Especially the call to “Rejoice” has strong prophetic connotations in the Old Testament (especially in famous parts of the prophets zacharia chapters 2 and 9, zephaniah chapter 3 and Joel 2), where the Daughter of Sion is invited to rejoice. Because the Son of God will live in her she need not be afraid. Another important indication is the parallel between the people of God who remember the salvific actions in history, and the virgin Mary who remembers, preserves and reflects the salvific events in her heart. The terms daughter of Sion, the Mother of god and the Fiancée of god (of the holy Spirit) point to each other. The key to the respect of the mystery of the virgin Mary is found also in the salvific covenant, because Mary represents the People of god. Toward the Blessed virgin Mary an invocation or a refection of god’s salvific action in history and in her personal life is more adequate, not only a description.
