Summary/Abstract: In his recollection of Henryk Markiewicz the author, one of the Professor’s students, emphasises mostly his traits of character: reliability, honesty, kindness and intellectual openness. Those traits earned him among the students a name of the real „master”. In the second part of this text the author writes about the methodological and world-view beliefs of the Professor and recalls the most important facts from his academic career.
