Summary/Abstract: For many years Catholic Church has initiated any number of activities for charity to help people in need in a spiritual and material way. Catholic parishes, associations and religious movements do their best to organize for children and the youth various forms of relaxation in their spare time. They specially take care of young people coming from poor families The aim of this article is to emphasize the role of Catholic organizations in the process of parenting children and organizing their free time. One of the ways is travelling – called parish tourism. It consists of trips and other kinds of tourist events held by parishes or with their cooperation. These days parish tourism is a very essential issue because more and more families cannot afford to travel with the whole family. They also cannot send their children on camps run by well-qualified teachers. It is the effect of growing poverty in our society.
