Summary/Abstract: Does philosophy have a centre? Is it realized around some fixed point? Does any axis determine its perspective? We have no answer to such questions. However, in a sense, the history of philosophies is part of this interrogation. Philosophies often believe they have found the answer, but they also know that they have to keep searching, as the centre is still missing. The fixed invisible point, but the tentative axis only. Of the many possible ways to classify philosophical approaches, there is one which has perhaps not attracted enough attention. This classification opposes those philosophies which seek the centre within themselves and those which seek it in others.
