Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the vocabulary used by journalists commenting on football matches on TV. The influence of football circles on the commentators' vocabulary has been described here as well as the presence of foreign borrowings in their talks. The borrowings have been divided into: necessary, facultative and abused ones in the course of a football match. The introduction explains the peculiarity of sports comments, which are one of TV language variations.
