Indirect Nomination in Anthroponymy

Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the phenomenon of the so-called indirect nomination occurring in anthroponyms. It refers to those personal names that are derived from a name of another person, e. g. Mikhail’s daughter is called Mikhailovna. The author provides a classification of anthroponyms formed by the process of indirect nomination and a detailed analysis of the individual types.
