Summary/Abstract: Passing Decree with legal strength on changes and amendments in the Law on Islamic religious community of Kingdom of Yugoslavia on 28 February 1936. was a consequence of political agreement between Milan Stojadinović and Mehmed Spaho concerning the entering of JMO into a new Belgrade government – highly significant event which – for a whole decade - defined the legal status and organization structure of Islamic community in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Decree abolished the set of laws from 1930, dismissed the existing religious and wukuf authorities and renewed the autonomy of the community. A new concept of organization and management was established – laicism, with the dominant role of secular elements in Islamic community.
