Summary/Abstract: Critical review of Mahmutefendić’s “prose inspired by childhood”, these works which entered Mahmutefendić into the area of the most famous modern writers for children in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was appointed to the most important stylistic, narrative and meaning determinants of the work „Djetinjstvo pod vrtaljicom“ / “Childhood under the Whirl”, „Roman o novčiću“ / “Novel about a Penny”, „Noćni vlakovi“ / “The Night Trains” and „Pogled sa pećine“ / “A View from the Cave”.
