Summary/Abstract: Johan Simons speaks of his performance based on Sarah Kane’s dramas – Cleansed, Crave, and 4.48 Psychosis, claiming that what interests him is the issue of rape “conceived not only as a physical attack with a sexual basis, but also as the transgression of independence and inviolability, both physical and spiritual.” He also speaks of the role of laughter and signification in his stagings, and the idea of transferring Cleansed to a child’s setting and casting a woman for the role of Tinker. He then describes his collaboration with the creator of Robin in Cleansed and with the lead in 4.48 Psychosis – Thomas Schmauser.
