Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the questions of historiography of the artistic in-telligentsia of the upper Volga river region. The author analyzes the scientific and scientific popular literature and dissertations published from 1941 till 2010. Analyzing each period of historiography, the author shows the main directions and marks the lesser-known questions on the given subject
