Summary/Abstract: This dialogue goes on between acclaimed Serb prose writer Vidosav Stevanović and the poet Milan Đorđević. Their conversation reveals the literary and human fate of Vidosav Stevanović, who once was one of the key protagonists in the cultural scene of Belgrade and Serbia, a vigorous opponent of Milošević’s regime in the nineties, a dissident and emigrant who has lived in France for many years now. His fascinating story points to the strength of individual moral stance in times of collective madness, and the failure of war-traumatised society to face its own demons.
