Teaching financial accounting by means of financial and accounting software applications – aims, methods and effects

Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the aims, methods and effects of teaching financial accounting by means of financial and accounting software applications. The author sets out the methodological principles of computer assisted classes in accounting, the course of classes and the way of evaluting student performance. In order to assess the effectiveness of this apprach, the author has carried out a survey among a group of sixty students participating in the classes. The survey brought the author to interesting conclusions.
