Financialization – problems and controversies

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to bring the main issues connected with financialization closer, one of the most crucial problems in contemporary economies. The article presents various definitions of it as well as the genesis of this phenomenon, with special emphasis on the role of governments in boostering financialization. Then, the paper describes selected consequences of financialization, both micro and macroeconomic ones.
