Summary/Abstract: The paper reviews research reported in the literature of DEA applications in the area of public sector entities. Available resources do not include investigations which apply the evaluation of operational efficiency of a self-government entity as a tool to assess its financial standing. Therefore, the paper puts forward a new procedure to determine an aggregate assessment of economic credibility of a self-government entity that is based on nonparametric analysis (Data Envelopment Analysis) combined with parametric (econometric) analysis.
