Summary/Abstract: The paper analyses the volume of Kaikavian poems, the book of lyrical poems - Pesme horvatske (1781) - which is attributed by Croatian historiography to Katarina Patačić. The poems in the volume are compared with the Petrachan canzonieres in Croatian literature of Dubrovnik and Dalmatia, which makes the authoress reach the conclusion that the starting point of Patačić's book was in this type of lyrical poetry, but that its attitude towards love and beauty, as well as the attitude of the lyrical subject and its versification, differ considerably from its model. Finally, the authoress concludes that the poems in Pesme horvatske were under the impact of rococo. Generally, the majority of the poems in this volume belong to the lyrical genre which has a long tradition in European literature and which has manifested itself in numerous variations and is known as popijevka (song, Lied).
