To think method: Qualitative methodology between theory and experience

Summary/Abstract: The paper aims to present some influences of the poststructuralism theory that are relevant to reoriented qualitative methodological strategies. The paper begins by presenting the key thesis of the structuralist and poststructuralist approaches. This is followed by a section devoted to the central figure of Derrida and deconstruction. We then illustrate some implications of poststructuralism for empirical research. In that part we also offer some specific proposals on possible ways of coping with the complexity of the research process. The paper closes with a discussion that opens space for a more critical evaluation.
