The Eye of the Other/Alien As a Potential Cognitive Perspective of Polish Literature

Summary/Abstract: The article starts off from the thesis holding that where native literature becomes subject to teaching targeted at an alien recipient, shaped by a foreign national culture, the perspective in which such literature is perceived changes and its own image is altered accordingly. The author suggests several versions of a story to be told of Polish literature, projected sub specie of the other’s/alien’s eye.
