Summary/Abstract: In what is truly more of an essay than a review, written on the occasion of the publishing of Mirela Holy’s book, Suzana Marjanić points towards different and multilayered links between ecology and feminism, but also the essential of the politics that can be traced in the book. She thus speaks, for example, of the very painful loci of today’s global politics: “In the ecological context of wars for water, not only those hiding in the caves of Afghanistan are terrorists, but also those hiding in the corporate assembly-halls and behind rules of free commerce set by the WTO, NAFTA and FTAA, because the destruction of water resources, forest basins and watersheds is a form of terrorism, just like the limiting of poor people’s access to water by privatisation of distribution or pollution of springs and rivers are a mode of terrorism.” She very persuasively demonstrates the intersections of various ecofeminisms, from spiritual to political ecofeminism, that is – cultural, social, socialist and liberal ecofeminism – all of which agree in that “the forms of oppression rest on patriarchy (that dark link which demasks the parallelism between male domination over women and male domination over nature), that is, the androcentric trinity of oppression constituted by racism, sexism and speciesm, where the latter term is defined as the discrimination of animals”.
