Erasmus – new dimension of studying. Implementation of LLP Erasmus at Wroclaw's universities in 2002-2011

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the EU Lifelong Learning Programme. It mainly concentrates on one of its components – the Erasmus Programme. The purpose of this article is to demonstrate the implementation of the programme at Wrocław’s universities. To achieve it the data on the arrivals and departures of students participating in the programme were gathered. The article shows the dynamics of the number of foreign students that come to Wrocław, including countries of their origin, by comparing the statistical data obtained during the research. The first part of the research provides general remarks on the programmes that are included in LLP. Subsequently, statistical data on the programme in Poland are presented. Then, based on the data obtained from Wrocław’s universities (questionnaires filled in by universities), information is analyzed and the attempt to systematize the observed trends and phenomena is made.
